      Knowing Jesus

God knows who you are and has a great plan for your life.  He loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you.

"This is how much God loves the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son.  And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life." (The Message,  John 3:16)  John 17:3 says, "now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

People have sinned (done things that are wrong) and are separated from God.  Because of this, we are separated from Him and can't experience His love or His plan for our life.  "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)  Sin

Jesus, our ticket to eternal life.

can be something as small as telling a little white lie or something as big as murder.  Humans trying to get to heaven on our own is like someone trying to jump across the Mississippi River, we just can't do it; we need an bridge and Jesus is like that bridge.

"God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)  The only way to get to God is through Jesus, then we will know God's love for us.  "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.'" (John 14:16)

If you are ready to accept Jesus as your personal savior, you can pray (talk to God).  "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name." (John 1:12)  "By grace you have been saved by faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works that no one should boast." (Ephesians 2:8,9)  You should tell God how you feel and have faith that Jesus can really change your life.  Here is a suggested prayer, but Jesus cares more about the attitude of your heart than your words:

"Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally.  Thank you for dying on the cross to wash away my sins.  I accept you into my heart and life as Lord and Savior.  Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life.  I give you control over my whole life and I want You to make me more like You."

If you just prayed that and accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, congratulations!  You just made the best decision of your life and we would love to meet you in person.  If you aren't in Central Oregon, we encourage you to get into a Bible believing church (click here to search for an Assemblies of God church in your area).  If you have more questions for us before you decide to accept Jesus, please fill out our request information form or visit us at our next service.
